Seeing Someone Feeling Broken

Today I found out that this girl’s horse, who she had a strong bond with, was going to be put down. I personally never felt as strongly as she did about this horse, but seeing her so broken at knowing she only has two more days to look into his eyes and dream of back when they used to jump fences together, before he got ill, breaks my heart. It’s the saddest thing I’ve seen in a while and I know some people may respond, saying it’s just an animal, but to her it was family, and was the only one that listened when she needed someone to talk to. Now, seeing how broken she is, it breaks me. Life is cruel sometimes.
